Kopper & Zink has consciously chosen a production company who value sustainable design, women’s health and humanitarian aid and recognise the importance of integrating these values into the work place environment, the production process and the final garment we produce.
 

TRANSPARENCY & MANUFACTURING WORKING CONDITIONS

All manufacturing staff are paid above award wages at up to three times the standard.

Implemented business development and hiring practices that raise the standards for women, health & income in the industry.
Everyone is provided with comprehensive health insurance for themselves & their families.
Working hours are less than 40 hrs per week and any voluntary overtime is paid accordingly.

Recreational Zumba & soccer classes are arranged, as well as supplying all staff with a metal water bottle as plastic bottles are banned on site.

OVER PRODUCTION

We recognise that K&Z has a responsibility in reducing over production in the fashion industry. With over forecasting & large minimum orders, several brands are left with wasted stock that is difficult to move that maybe didn’t have to be manufactured in the first place! 

Kopper & Zink has consciously chosen to place smaller production orders and recuts regularly rather than over producing. This means a higher production cost for us, but a step closer to reducing our impact on the environment & managing the waste problem.
 
FABRICS

Kopper & Zink has moved towards choosing environmental supportive fabrics as much as possible, with about 95% of the current collection using Econyl & Repreve fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles & ocean waste. We strive to make this 100% in the upcoming seasons as more options become available.

PACKAGING

We are so proud that we have nearly eliminated all plastic in our packaging. We use:
- 100% compostable shipping satchels
- Paper Hygienic stickers
- Tapioca biodegradable garment bags
- Printed garment information rather than synthetic or cotton woven tags
- Natural string for hang tags

SUPPORTING PROJECTS THROUGH OUR PARTNERED MANUFACTURER

Role Foundation -  10c of production costs of every swimwear piece is donated to this foundation with the vision to develop and implement zero waste to oceans programs.
